About Your Host

Tom Benefiel has hosted his own Friday night show on WGCY since mid-August, 1995.

An employee for over twenty-two years, Tom provides much of the local sports coverage and updates the local and state news blog on wgcyradio.com

The Tom Benefiel Show features an eclectic mix of big band, swing, jazz, classic country, comedy, popular music from the 40's and 50's, lounge music, insanity, light classical, spoken-word recordings, the kitchen sink and almost everything in between.

A group very near and dear to my heart will be our next Friday Night Spotlight at 9 P-M on May 17th. Three brothers, a cousin and a friend from Hawthorne, California... the Beach Boys!
