FALCONS COLLECT FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON-- by Tom Benefiel (11-27-10) Host GCMS beats the Heritage Hawks, 43-38, as they close out their annual Thanksgiving tournament with a win. The Falcons were led in scoring by Alex Kemmer with 11 points and John Massey with nine. GCMS shot very well from the free-throw line, making 10 of 12 foul shots. The Falcons made eight straight free-throws in the 4th quarter. Heritage was led in scoring by Koby Brown and Cody Mohr with 11 points each. The Hawks were seven of 16 on foul shots. FALCONS STILL LOOKING FOR FIRST WIN -- by Tom Benefiel (11-26-10) The Bismarck-Henning Blue Devils take care of the homestanding GCMS Falcons, 50-27. GCMS was led in scoring by Sam Johnson and David Hohulin with 10 points each. The Falcons made one of four free-throws. The Blue Devils were paced by the 13 points of Dalton Ervin, followed by Stephan Krout with 11. B-H shot five free-throws, making three. GCMS DROPS SECOND IN A ROW -- by Tom Benefiel (11-23-10) The Hilltoppers of Mt. Pulaski take care of the host GCMS Falcons, 57-34, during the second night of action from the annual Thanksgiving Tournament in Gibson City. Leading scorers for GCMS are Gabe Kerber with 10 points, followed by Alex Kemmer with five. GCMS made two of six free-throws. Cory Titus dropped in 21 points for the Hilltoppers, followed by Tanner Clementz and Alex Deppe, both with seven. Mt. Pulaski made eight of 13 foul shots. GCMS BOYS CAN'T HANDLE TALL RANTOUL -- by Tom Benefiel (11-22-10) The GCMS Falcons open up their annual Thanksgiving tournament with a loss against a taller and deeper Rantoul Eagles' squad. The final score was 59-27, Rantoul. Leading the scoring for the Falcons was Jake Johnson with 12 points, followed by David Hohulin with five. GCMS made six of 12 free-throws. The Eagles were led in scoring by Travis Britt with 18 points, followed by L.C. Franklin with 10. Rantoul shot 11 free-throws, making nine.
